The CRT Settlement Fund is the result of five Settlement Agreements obtained by the Attorney General of the State of California in a civil lawsuit (State of California, et al. v. Samsung SDI, et al.) filed against the makers of cathode ray tubes (CRTs). CRTs are a display technology that was widely used in televisions and computer monitors a decade ago, now replaced by LED, LCD and Plasma displays.
There are four settlement classes, classified below:
- Settlement Class Fund
- State Agencies Fund
- Residual Fund
- Deadweight Loss Fund
